And not just a gay character, The Eternals will also cover new ground with Marvel’s first differently abled (deaf)character, which will be played by Lauren Ridloff.
Marvels’ The Eternals has been in news ever since its star-cast was announced at the San-Diego Comic Con presentation in July 2019. Recently, the Game of Thrones star Kit Harrington was also roped in to play a character in the much-anticipated film.
Marvel has now confirmed that Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie will no longer be the only queer superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios President, stated that an openly gay character will appear in The Eternals, making the film a first in the MCU to have a character with an LGBTQ storyline.

” He’s married, he’s got a family and that is just part of who he is,” Feige told Good Morning America at the D23 Expo in Los Angeles.
The Eternals are an immortal alien race created from scientific experiments on ancient humans. They are sent to Earth by the Celestials ( who gave birth to them) to protect humankind from the Deviants.

Being helmed by Chloe Zhao, the film features Angelina Jolie as Thena, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff, Don Lee as Gilgamesh and Kit Harington as Dane Whitman.
The Eternals will release on 6 November, 2020.
